An autumnal wedding at Llantilio house

REAL WEDDING: Delyth & Dominic

Delyth and Dominic’s wedding was full of personality and meaningful touches. From the venue and the location to the hand-made guest favours and wild, overgrown florals; This wedding was everything that I love about planning special occasions.

Delyth and Dominic came to me looking for assistance with the overall Design & Styling of their wedding, as well as support for ‘Day of Coordination’. I knew from our very first consultation that we were destined to work together and that this particular couple were looking for something unique and a little different when it came to the overall vision for their wedding day.

Having opted for an October wedding, it was important to the couple to factor in the season in which they were getting married, as well as the local surroundings and wildlife.

Set in 200 acres of a Grade II listed farm in Monmouthshire, Llantilio House offers a scenic setting complete with a collection of restored barns, a residential cottage with natural outdoor pool and spa, manicured gardens and lawns, as well as unspoilt views overlooking the Welsh countryside.

The overall aesthetic and vision played heavily on the couple’s great love for nature and the outdoors. The Isle of Skye had a particular importance to the day, as this was where the couple became engaged whilst on holiday back in 2020.

Working closely with Millefleur on florals and installation, we very much brought the outdoors in. The ceremony setting was set in the venue’s Cow Shed barn - One of the smaller, more intimate spaces this venue offers. Set with warm stone tiles and original cow trough, the florals featured a rich, autumnal colour tone with an abundance of dried grasses and flowers, all brought to life with a scattering of pillar candles to add romance and softness.

As early evening set in, guests were brought into the large Corn Barn for dinner, where they were greeted with rows of banquet-style tables, soft candlelight and large, hanging floral installations.

The tables were adorned with hand-made ceramic vases and vessels, provided by Every Story, home-made Welsh Cakes all individually made by the Bride’s mother and monochromatic cutlery and crockery.

The day ended with an acoustic set in the Cow Shed, accompanied by Espresso Martini’s and log fires on the terrace, followed by dancing and live music.
