A spring marriage proposal in london

a marriage proposal for deep & prit

Back in May, I was fortunate enough to work alongside Deep in preparation for his surprise proposal to his long-term partner, Prit. The area of Barbican plays a huge part in their relationship, as the couple spent many afternoons and evenings there, on dates. It was for this reason that Deep wanted to propose to Prit at St Dunstan in the East, a beautiful hidden gem in the heart of London’s financial district.

I worked with Deep on both the Planning and Design & Styling for this event - It was important to spend the time thoroughly getting to know the couple inside and out, so I was able to create an occasion as tailored to all of their likes, wants and desires. The surroundings of St Dunstan provided the perfect backdrop for Deep’s proposal and it was these natural elements that inspired the overall look and feel for their styled set-up. We were also inspired by Prit’s love for boho and pampas grass.

The bricked wall of St Dunstan was adorned with effortlessly styled blankets and throws, scatter cushions and a perfectly placed bouquet. The set-up was then finished off with pillar candles and a light scattering of rose petals and eucalyptus leaves.

After the proposal, I’d carefully mapped out a route for the couple to have their portraits taken. It started at St Dunstan, followed by a quick stop down Lovat Lane and finishing by the impressive St Paul’s Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge.
